David Jaeger studied composition with Burt Levy at the University
of Wisconson and with John Weinzweig and Gustav Ciamaga at the university of
Toronto. In the early 1970s, he helped to found a digital sound synthesis
facility at the University of Toronto, using his own program, OUTPERFORM. In
1971, he co-founded the Canadian Electronic Ensemble (CEE) with David Grimes,
Larry Lake and Jim Montgomery.
He joined the Canadian Broadcasting
Corporations's Radio Music Department in 1973. In 1978, he created Canada's
national new music programme Two New Hours. He is currently celebrating
his 20th anniversary as Executive Producer of Two New Hours.
Mr. Jaeger has written both electroacoustic and
instrumental works, frequently combining both media. He continues to be active
in the creation of collaborative works with the CEE. His music has been
recorded on the CentreDiscs, Music Gallery Editions, Radio Canada International
and Trappist labels.
